An Extra Few Hours in the Noms Pit

Sorry for being behind on noms approvals – I spent all of Sunday evening and Monday down with a stomach bug/food poisoning/digestive unpleasantness. I'm going through the noms right now, and I've decided that everyone gets an extra 3h of noms (until 20:00 Finland) as a celebration of me being able to keep food down. There will be at least one more full clarification post. In the meanwhile, while I'm approving, I have requests for the following nominators:

The Excalibur Alternative - David Weber
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
Star Wars: The Original Trilogy
Please nominate according to the instructions. Thank you! If you do not, your fandom/remaining noms will be rejected.

Machineries of Empire Series - Yoon Ha Lee
Star Wars Crossovers
Alliance-Union - C. J. Cherryh
Chanur Series - C. J. Cherryh
Please disambiguate your nominations! This means adding the fandom in (brackets) to the end, e.g. Character: Ben Pollard (Alliance-Union)

Hyperion Cantos - Dan Simmons
Stellaris (Video Game)
You don't currently have any character, relationship, or worldbuilding tags nominated. You might want to add some!

Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader (Video Game) – is this distinct from the other Warhammer 40.000 stuff? Should this be kept separate or merged into Warhammer 40.000?

Superman (Animated) – I might have borked your noms by accident. Also, which animated Superman?

Superman (Animated)

I really struggled with this, because as with so many comics-based stories, there are multiple "lines" which have muddy boundaries. I'm most interested in the animated films The Death of Superman (2018) and the sequel Reign of the Supermen (2019) - it's one story in two parts. However, they are also part of the DC Animated Movie Universe AND the DC Universe Animated Original Movies line. These two lines aren't just Superman titles though, they have Batman and Wonder Women and Justice League and so on.

The "DC Animated Movie Universe" might be the best umbrella to go with. That will give people room to pull ideas from the whole story arc in all the movies if they decide to play in this sandbox, and I can still nominate Superman.

Does that help? Sorry I can't be more precise. Comics-based franchises are weird hydras.

I can still see my noms on my form. Do you need me to do anything with them to send them through to you again?

I went with "Superman (animated)" in the nomination because I wanted to mainly nominate Superman. (Duh! :) But now you've poked me to think about it more, there are a lot of cool Superman-in-space things in the Justice League movies too, which don't have "Superman" in the title.

I think DC Animated Movie Universe might be the best option, because it allows Superman stuff from those other animated movies to be used if someone wants to. Especially for vids - which would be so cool.

The Death of Superman Series (2018-2019) is what inspired me to make the nomination, so if you want to make it tighter, I'd be okay with that too. Having thought about it though, I lean towards the wider option of the DCAMU.

Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me figure this out.

I just took a quick look, and the tag seems to have added an autofill:

DC Animated Movie Universe (Justice League Dark: Apokolips War (2020))

It's on my nominations screen - I tried refreshing and it's still there at the top in the "fandom" slot. I can take a screencap if it helps. But if it's not showing up at your end, maybe it's just a glitch at my end.

PS - sorry to hear you were sick. Stomach bugs are the worst. Glad you're on the mend.

Rogue Trader Video Game

The Warhammer Rogue Trader video game has some specific characters and plot elements that don’t feature elsewhere in the lore. For matching purposes it will probably be most streamlined to keep them distinct.

How can I disambiguate when the page says this?

I don't see ANY of my noms added, even the ones that were additions to an already nominated fandom, even the ones that have green checkmarks. A few of my nominations are normally disambiguated by default.

chomiji: Mibu no Shinrei (from Samurai Deeper Kyo by Akimine Kamijyo) as a child, grinning, with the caption Thank You (Shinrei-chan-thanks)
