You will be allowed to nominate fandoms, characters (as "Character & None" in the relationship field), relationships, and freeforms. (The precise numbers are likely to still change.) Greetings! Yours truly, enthralled by the flash exchange frenzy, has decided to set up a flash exchange of their own. The name will be Space Race, and the work reveals will be Mon 14 Oct – exactly half a year between Yuri's Night 2019 and 2020. Draft schedule:
Nominations: Mon 7 Oct to Thu 10 Oct
Sign-ups: Tue 8 Oct to Thu 10 Oct (concurrent with nominations)
Works due + revealed: Mon 14 Oct (though the due deadline will likely be a few hours before the reveals)
Authors revealed: Wed 16 Oct
(Like most flash exchanges, if you don't have any possible recipient after matching, the mod reserves the right to delete your sign-up. Likewise, while I will try my best to find a pinch hitter for everyone, I cannot guarantee that everyone will get a gift.)

Rules other than that: any fandom is in, but the gift must be:
1. Set on a space ship/in space,
2. Set on an alien world*, or
3. Set in a space program.

* For the purposes of this exchange, "alien world" is defined as any planet or moon which the protagonist majority species is not native to, so e.g. for Lord of the Rings, any world but Middle Earth, but for e.g. The Martian, things set on Mars are A-OK.

For the second option of the first poll, the freeform "Mpreg" would be out, but the freeform "Mpreg in space" would be acceptable. The mod reserves the right to tack on "in space" to any freeform considered insufficiently space-y. We can also have nominations for characters and relationships à la writingrainbow, but those won't be matched on and will be considered optional details.

* There will be no character or relationship matching. I am open to matching on rating or archive warnings, though!

Creation minimums will be 300 words for fic, sketch on unlined paper for art, ??? for podfic, and 30 seconds for vids. Please note that I am unsure about whether non-ficwriters want to sign up for flash exchanges.
