Requests, Offers, and Matching
You will need to request at least 3 fandoms, and can request up to 6. For each fandom, you can request up to 4 nominated characters. If you select 0, the person assigned to you may make something with any nominated character or general worldbuilding.
You'll also need to offer at least 3 fandoms, and can offer up to 10. For each fandom, you must offer to create for at least 2 of the nominated characters. You can also offer 'any'.
Matching will work on the following categories:
- fandom
- freeform (fanwork type)
- character
All fields are part of the tag set
You may select 'other' as a freeform but it cannot be the only option selected. Details about 'other' fanworks you are interested in receiving can be noted under optional details or in a 'Dear Spacer' letter*.
You may focus on one, some or all of the characters in your assignment - you are not required to incorporate all. A reminder that when choosing the option 'Any' means that you could potentially match to anything in that category.

Sorry! We couldn't save this ChallengeSignup because:
Request: your Request must include between 3 and 6 fandom tags, but you have included 1 fandom tags in your current Request.
Offer: your Offer must include between 3 and 10 fandom tags, but you have included 1 fandom tags in your current Offer.
You have submitted more than one request with the same freeform tags. This challenge requires them all to be unique.

can you tell me what it means? It's all greek to me.
YAY SPACE!
I've just done a mock signup and it seems to be working, but let me know if you still have trouble.

what's a fandom tag? Am I supposed to be clicking more than one fandom for each request or something?
It's because I had the challenge set to 3 requests/offers as the minimum and I also had 3 as the minimum fandom tag (which was wrong and yup -- I had it on both the request and the offer).
Sorry, hosting on AO3 is new for me. Ack!
:D
I'm glad I asked instead of going 'well, I'll try later'
THANK YOU FOR JUMPING IN and letting me get it all sorted out on day 1 :D
Yes, "must be unique" is selected on the fandom category on the "request settings" because you can only request/offer a fandom once. The actual culprit was that I had 3 fandom minimum on the "request settings" as well as in the number of "requests and offers" section - (sorry, more back-end details than people need I think and wow, what awkward AO3 terminology- LOL)
tl;dr
In any case, the signup should be squared away. Let me know if you encounter any issues.
here and here
If you did not make nominations, my suggestion would be to look into the tag set to see where the characters you're interested in were nominated and go from there? There are 4 categories under TV and 1 under 'Other' if I recall correctly.
If that doesn't sort things out, let us know and I'll ask my co-mod to help.
Requests are "and". Offers are "or".

From AO3 FAQ
"For example, if you are running a multifandom exchange, one criterion for a match would be one fandom in common between requestor and offerer. You can also require that a match be made only if there is a fandom AND a character in common by indicating 1 fandom and 1 character on the form. This is considered the minimum. Any matches above the minimum required number will be used to rank the quality of potential matches"
Let me know if that helps clarify. We are not matching on someone requesting C and D any differently than someone requesting C or D - that's a nuance that is not taken into account when choosing characters in the form or for matching, but it can be mentioned in optional details.

Hopefully the matching will be on more than one character if applicable for participants, but as we're also matching on fandom and type of media we aren't sure we can guarantee it.
I've modded before and know that might be asking too much, so I wanted to clear it up beforehand. :)
If you make note of it in the optional details of your offer I will try to make that match. No guarantees but I will try :)

ETA: and PS totally works in my book!
