Two Jedi Masters played by hugely popular, charismatic British actors: This really ought to be a more popular pairing! Or what about after Qui-Gon is knighted and possibly has apprentices of his own? IIRC, it’s either canon or fanon that Dooku turned to the dark side in the wake of Qui-Gon’s death, blaming it on the Jedi—what if that was because they were secret lovers? I like to imagine that the young Senator from Naboo slept his way to the top—the very top, that is, with Supreme Chancellor Valorum. In the new Marvel Star Wars comics, “Old Ben” is depicted hanging out with his “bantha family” in the Dune Sea on Tatooine. He’s even given them names, e.g. Nara and Dolo, and talks to them. (Presumably the banthas aren’t intelligent enough to really understand him, but who knows?) That’s all there is to it, though. So I’d love to see more about this relationship, how he comes to care for them, look after/become a part of their families, etc. How about some natural history of banthas, e.g. mating, pregnancy, births, calves? Bonus round: blue milk!

Obi-Wan/Vader
They begin in a quasi-father/son or sibling relationship and end trying on multiple occasions to kill each other, and one of them ultimately succeeds…sort of—aaaahhh the angst is off the charts! I’m especially interested in what happens to the characters’ relationship post-PT/ROTS, and now that TLJ has made astral projection canonical, oh the possibilities! What if Obi-Wan and Vader had a reunion of sorts pre-ANH? Or what if one is visiting the other (semi-)regularly? I could easily imagine them still needing/desiring each other in spite of everything. How would Vader’s crippling injuries factor in? There’s also plenty of potential post-ANH with Obi-Wan as a force ghost haunting Vader: That could be a fabulous blend of angst and humor, anger and forgiveness…and love. (FYI: I also have a TCW Obi-Wan/Anakin request as well.)

Obi-Wan/Luke
Yes, this is, for the record, a 39-year age difference…and I don’t care. They’re both such thoroughly good, kindhearted characters who, at various points in their respective lives, have been very badly hurt by the universe at large. It’s easy to imagine them in a loving relationship, or at least finding sweet solace together. The era doesn’t matter to me: Write Luke underage and pre-ANH if you prefer, or during the short period they’re together during ANH. How about sex with Force Ghost Obi-Wan? Maybe during ESB or post-ROTJ? Or maybe even after Luke has become an exile himself? Bet they’d have lots to talk about there too! Or maybe not: Luke made a point of badmouthing Obi-Wan in TLJ—is there a juicy backstory to explain that?

Palpatine/Vader
Palpatine seduced Anakin to the dark side—what if that seduction was a literal one as well? I’m especially interested in their relationship between Palpatine and Vader post-PT/ROTS, both so damaged yet (for the moment) triumphant: Vader served the Emperor faithfully for over twenty years. That’s longer than a lot of marriages…never mind partnerships between treacherous Sith Lords, and that does make a lot of sense if you accept the proposition that Vader actually loved Palpatine. Was he was manipulated unscrupulously into feeling that way, or did Palpatine reciprocate his affections on some level…and if so, how might he have shown it?

As far as I know, no one has ever written this pairing. You could be the first! After Kylo Ren killed Han, Chewie shot him with the bowcaster…but it wasn’t a lethal shot. That had to have been on purpose: What if, at some point in his life, either before or after his fall to the dark side, Ben was in not just a quasi-familial but also a sexual relationship with Chewie? How might it have happened, and what we the consequences? Did they keep it a secret? Or maybe some people knew about it; could that have caused a rift between Ben and his parents? This is also a great opportunity to head deep into the weeds of Wookiee anatomy/physiology and mating rituals. The sky’s the limit here—go wild!

Luke/Ben Solo | Kylo Ren
Luke considers killing his nephew in his sleep; Ben thinks he was going to do it. Did Luke make a habit of visiting Ben while he’s sleeping? Hmm… Does Kylo receive any ghostly visitations post-TLJ? Otherwise, their history together is pretty much a blank slate in canon thus far, so go wild. Mission fics, master/apprentice training exercises, Ben developing an inappropriate—reciprocated or not?—fixation on Luke. We know from Claudia Gray’s Bloodline that Han and Leia never told Ben about Vader…but maybe Luke did and then swore him to secrecy. Maybe forbidden love betrayed is the ultimate reason Ben turns to the dark side, or maybe they were still seeing each other in secret after Ben turns, which of course would have eaten Luke up inside, even if he couldn’t help but love Ben.

Luke/Lor San Tekka
In TFA, Lor San Tekka is shown protecting a map leading to Luke Skywalker…and then he’s shown dying at the hands of Luke’s angry (and jealous? X-D ) erstwhile nephew to protect it. He must’ve felt an incredibly strong devotion to Luke, right? What little backstory there is suggests that Lor San Tekka, old enough to remember the Old Republic, assisted and/or advised Luke in some way while he was rebuilding the new Jedi Order. The slash potential here is absolutely, positively gigantic!! And probably full of beauty, romance, discovery, wonder, and heartbreak. What was it like for Lor San Tekka to meet the last of the Jedi? As a non-Force-sensitive member of the Church of the Force, surely it was a bit like meeting a minor deity or perhaps a holy knight. Was it like sleeping with an angel as well? Or maybe his feelings were unrequited or only reciprocated to a certain degree—oh, the angst! Did he and Luke go on adventures together? Where was Lor San Tekka when Ben burned the Temple down? How did he end up on Jakku, and what was he feeling about his history with Luke by that point?

Luke & thala-siren(s)
Luke procuring a bottle of green milk from a thala-siren relaxing on the rocks of Ahch-To is one of the most memorable (and humorous) scenes from TLJ. It was striking to me, though, that the thala-siren didn’t put up any fuss when he did it, so presumably they had become friendly in some way. I’d love to know more about Luke and his sea cows and how their lives fit together. Perhaps some natural history of thala-sirens, e.g. mating, pregnancy, births, calves? Oh, and where were the babies anyway? If the mother was lactating, there must be cute little thala-siren calves cavorting about somewhere in the waves…right?

Snoke’s Origins
Oh yeah. Something—anything!—about that minor, thus far wholly unexplained detail would be much appreciated. What's your theory? (For what it’s worth, I think the old fan theory that Ezra Bridger from Rebels grows up to become Snoke is an interesting one which could be worth exploring in fanfiction. They have the same facial structure and eye color, at least.)

Ahch-To
The First Jedi Temple and its planet— Mmm, yes, tell me more! Who built it? Who visited it over the millennia? What was up with that tree? And those books? What other adventures might Jedi of the Old Republic (now that’s a giant cast of potential characters) and/or Luke have had here? What discoveries might they have made? I’d also be interested in the natural history of Ahch-To’s wildlife (though please no Porg cuteness purely for cuteness's sake…that’s so not my thing).

The story idea I'm currently writing for this pairing: PT era Anakin accidentally time-travel-gates through space and time to ST era Luke’s Island of Sorrows. But that’s just my (one) idea--feel free to use it or not as you wish. Maybe they’ve met before (or before and after) the destruction of Luke’s training temple? Maybe they’ve met several times throughout Anakin’s childhood/adolescence/young adulthood? Who knows how the Force might bring them together! The sexual and romantic attraction, on the other hand, strikes me as something that would be 110% them. :-D There’s PT era Anakin, with his can-do attitude and obsession with people he shouldn’t want to want. And then there’s ST era Luke, celibate (according to Mark Hamill himself), aging, eccentric, and perhaps lonely, not to mention grieving and disillusioned post-Ben Solo...but still with tremendous capacity for love. So much potential for Feelings! Guilt! Should We/Shouldn't We Pining! On both sides! Also interesting to think about is who knows what about whom, and/or how they find out: Does Anakin know Luke is his son? Does Luke know Anakin is his father?

Ben Solo | Kylo Ren/Nash Windrider
After writing an older Nash into a ST era story recently, the possibilities of this pairing have begun to appeal to me. Suppose Nash eventually joined the First Order, and suppose he then encountered Kylo Ren. Nash had a crush on Leia that later soured into hatred after the destruction of Alderaan; it’s easy to imagine him taking a highly motivated interest in her son…presuming he knows who Kylo Ren is, which he may not! Moreover, Nash is a True Believer of the Empire from Leia’s generation who also happens to be Alderaanian; it’s also easy to imagine that Kylo (with his many, many issues) might become attracted to him! The large age difference makes this interesting as well. So much potential for angst about family and/or politics, not to mention the potential for dramatic irony and/or identity porn!

Rex/Luke
Luke’s been looking for a father figure all his life; Rex knew Anakin Skywalker better than most and would surely see the best parts of Anakin in Luke. I think this pairing has absolutely great potential, and there’s plenty of potential opportunity in the timeline for them to meet. Supposedly they were both at the Battle of Endor! I love the generational difference as well as the difference in their personalities, and I’m here for pretty much any shippy scenario or smut cliché you can imagine: Mission fic that leads to recognition of their feelings for each other? Oh yes! Or undercover as a couple, first times, hurt/comfort, sharing a bed, huddling for warmth, etc.? Please!
