Imperial Radch Series - Ann Leckie
Character: Athoek Station (Imperial Radch), Relationship: Justice of Toren One Esk Nineteen | Breq & Seivarden Vendaai (Imperial Radch), Relationship: Justice of Toren One Esk Nineteen | Breq & Mercy of Kalr (Imperial Radch), Character: Mercy of Kalr Kalr Five | Ettan (Imperial Radch), (Justice of Toren One Esk Nineteen | Breq) (Imperial Radch), Character: Mercy of Kalr Medic (Imperial Radch), Character: Tisarwat (Imperial Radch), Character: Seivarden Vendaai (Imperial Radch), Character: Mercy of Kalr (Imperial Radch), Fanfiction
The fact that Leckie manages to convey a strong sense of fellowship among minds that present as unemotional is amazing, and as someone who goes hard for families of choice and fire-forged fellowship, I really appreciate this.
Prompt ideas:
š Breq and the Mercy Mercy of Kalr end up in a system where something terrible has happened to the station. But the station core might be recoverable. The action includes rescuing the core, bringing it back to Athoek, and the operation of restoring the core, somehow.
š A ship defects from the Radch and shows up in Athoek's space. Breq, Mercy of Kalr, and Athoek Station itself have to determine whether this encounter is what it seems, or whether it's a subterfuge to disrupt or even destroy the Republic of Two Systems.

The Murderbot Diaries - Martha Wells
Character: Asshole Research Transport (Murderbot Diaries), Character: Character: Dr. Bharadwaj (Murderbot Diaries), Character: Murderbot (Murderbot), Relationship: Murderbot & SecUnit 3 (Murderbot Diaries), Relationship: Amena & Iris (Murderbot Diaries), Relationship: Amena & Murderbot (Murderbot Diaries), Relationship: ART & Iris (Murderbot Diaries), Relationship: Asshole Research Transport & Murderbot (Murderbot Diaries), Relationship: Dr. Mensah & Murderbot (Murderbot Diaries), Worldbuilding: PanSystem University of Mihira and New Tideland (Murderbot Diaries), Fanfiction
Prompt ideas:
š Murderbot starts to realize that his copies are in some sense his siblings and/or children; some sort of adventure/incident with SecUnit 3 develops this side of both of them. ART takes an interest; perhaps Holism does too.
š Murderbot starts to appreciate that emotional damage is still damage, at least as it applies to Mensah. It's not so interested in applying this to itself, despite what it's learned from its sessions with Bharadwaj. ART takes an interest, because of course it does.
š How exactly do Iris and Peri grow up together? Is Perihelion a ship from the beginning, or some sort of AI in a box?
š It's supposed to be an easy mission, and Amena and Iris have some great plans for a media-consuming party. Peri/ART is in, but SecUnit is still making excuses. And then something complicated happens, because this is The Murderbot Diaries.

Relationship: Signy Mallory/Jurgen Graff/Di Janz (Alliance-Union), Relationship: Meg Kady/Paul Dekker (Alliance-Union), Relationship: Ben Pollard/Sal Aboujib (Alliance-Union), Relationship: Sal Aboujib & Paul Dekker & Meg Kady & Ben Pollard (Alliance-Union), Character: Signy Mallory (Alliance-Union), Character: Sal Aboujib (Alliance-Union), Character: Paul Dekker (Alliance-Union), Character: Meg Kady (Alliance-Union), Character: Jurgen Graff (Alliance-Union), Character: Ben Pollard (Alliance-Union), Fanfiction
My main attachments to these books are the deep and well-hidden tenderness of friends and comrades, played out against the uncaring depths of space. I'm deeply attached to all the characters I've specified as individuals or in relationships. So feel free to beat them up (I love hurt/comfort) but please don't kill anyone off for real/permanently.
Prompt ideas:
š Paul Dekker/Meg Kady, a relationship through time: Just let me try, I will be good to you / Just let me try, and I will be there for you / I'll show you why, you're so much more than good enough.
š Dekker and his obsession with flying: I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings / Coming down is the hardest thing.
š The war has wound down, and life is almost routine. Then an Earth Company jump carrier appears, pristine and unscarred, to challenge the Merchanters' Alliance. And no one on Norway recognizes its name.
š An injury or illness puts Signy out of action (for the moment), and her comrades and crew have to carry on in the crisis: The world is falling apart, he's getting older, and there's a funeral in his heart.

Prompt ideas:
š The expansion of the Kif (or perhaps even worse, the Knn) seems to open the door to adding Humanity to the Compact. Pyanfar and Jik (and their crews) are deep into the process.
š Glory days: before was ever a captain, there were the cousins, Py and Hal, Chur and Geran. A youthful adventure starts to make them into what they will be.
š Tully's more alone than almost any man ever. What finally brought him together with the Anify sisters?

Teixcalaan Series - Arkady Martine
Relationship: Mahit Dzmare/Three Seagrass (Teixcalaan Series), Fanfiction
Mahit starts out as a pretty cerebral character&emdash;her passions are all directed at Teixcalaanli culture&emdash;but she doesn't end up that way. Is it the presence of Yskandr in her mind that melts the ice? Or simply the effects of the humans on whom she ends up depending?
I'm also fascinated with the Teixcalaanli war-ships, with their built-in gardens, and also with the tiny scout-ships, with their seemingly mind-melded pilots (and, for that matter, the Sunlit, but they are planet-bound, as far as I know).
Prompt ideas:
š Mahit or Three Seagrass (or both!) end up in the scout ships, because that's the best way to work with some new aliens.

What I love about this fandom: space, the opportunities of the Pegasus Galaxy, of learning new ways, and making new connections.
I'm not fond of the "and they were all stuck on Earth forever, with no thought of the Pegasus Galaxy" mindset that the show ended with. If you read the SGA Legacy book series, that was a much more satisfying and complete ending for the series, and if you're minded to take it from there, I'd love to read more in that dimension.
Otherwise, team is always good, friendship between the female characters is excellent, and my preferred pairing is John/Teyla, although I also like them just as friends.

Please entirely ignore the events of Secret Invasion, it doesn't exist. I've watched as far as Endgame, but I know the general feel of how things have gone. And I'm not particularly enthused about the directions.
I would like to see 'SHIELD...IN...SPAAAAACE!' Particularly with Maria Hill since she didn't get any of the exciting storylines on Earth. Whether that is something to do with the Skrulls and the Skrull who took on her appearance - did she give permission - or to do with Jane being Lady Thor, or Pepper out in space, or dealing with Nebula (even the Nebula that we see at the end of Endgame, who's pretty much the 2014 pre-Guardians version of her - I haven't seen Guardians Vol 3 either) - something that takes them out into the galaxy.

The Lost Fleet - Jack Campbell
Worldbuilding: The effects on society of the War sudden end after a century (The Lost Fleet), Worldbuilding: Life in the Syndicated Worlds (The Lost Fleet), Worldbuilding: The hardships of a century of warfare (The Lost Fleet), Worldbuilding: The beginning of the war (The Lost Fleet), Worldbuilding: Space battles (The Lost Fleet), Fanart, Fanfiction, Interactive Fiction
Hello, and thank you for creating for me!
There's a lot to like about this series, from the fact that it's a rare example of military science-fiction that's not right-authoritarian, to combat being more about positioning and movement than weaponry, to the fish-out-of-water nature of the protagonist having to grapple with a society (and military customs) that have widely diverged in a century.
A lot of these worldbuilding prompts are part of one of my favorite types of⦠well, of worldbuilding: "what does the life of Normal People look like in that universe, how do they react to what's happening with the plot". To give a bit more insight about what I mean there:
The beginning of the war: while we know about the actual first action in the Grendel system, pretty much everything else is a mystery. How did the Alliance react to it? How did it get on war footing? How did the first few battles go? How did it degenerate in a century-long stalemate (the broad strokes are know, but not much more)? What were the Syndics' objectives, and how did they react when they discovered that things did not go as planned?
The hardships of a century of warfare: the main books of course are in large part about how the military culture, competency, and even engineering has plummeted during the war; I think there's a lot of good stories that could be told from the civilian point of view too. How everyone got more and more fanatical. What that kind of attrition rate meant for the families back home. What a hundred years of war-economy even looked like.
Life in the Syndicated Worlds: the Lost Stars subseries showed a lot of that, and it was great for it, but as an avid enjoyer of Daily Life Stuff, I will always welcome more, especially when there's a century and bazillions of worlds to cover.
The war's sudden end: Imagine. You've lived your entire life during the Forever War. Your parents too. Maybe even your grand-parents. Your entire society has been impacted by it in some form or another. You believe your side will win... eventually, but it's been going on for so long that you don't expect that to happen in your lifetime. And then it does. How can you even react to that?
Space battles: not much to add there. As said before, I like how space battles play out in these books, and I would like to see more of that.

Sins of a Solar Empire (Video Game)
Worldbuilding: The beginning of the war (SoeSE), Worldbuilding: What is chasing the Vasari (SoaSE), Worldbuilding: The Advent's Exile (SoaSE), Worldbuilding: The creation of the TEC (SoaSE), Fanart, Fanfiction, Interactive Fiction
Hello, and thank you for creating for me!
I've always been a fan of space-based RTS (or, well, in this case, "4X but with focus on one of the X"), but SoaSE has always had this weird place in my heart for its lore. It's full of fascinating parts, and yet so utterly vague (since most of what we have are a few extremely well done intros) that you can do pretty much anything with it. We have outlines of the factions and of their backstories, and that leaves a lot of space to be filled. The frantic beginning of the war and the Traders having to desperately defend themselves; the creation of the TEC; whatever the Advents were doing during their centuries of exile; the Vasari's exile fleet... lots and lots and things that could be explored.

Hello, and thank you for creating for me!
FTL is, of course, a very good game; and for what it's doing it doesn't need more worldbuilding than what we have. But I do. I want to know everything you might imagine about any piece of that setting! I don't have much to add in terms of prompts as this might be the vaguest setting I ask, you can go as wild as you wish!

Mass Effect Trilogy
Worldbuilding: Living in the Terminus Systems (Mass Effect), Worldbuilding: Daily Life in the Citadel (Mass Effect), Worldbuilding: Charting New Systems (Mass Effect), Relationship: Female Shepard/Samantha Traynor (Mass Effect), Fanart, Fanfiction, Interactive Fiction
Hello, and thank you for creating for me! Given that ME is a very wide topic and that this time there's not only worldbuilding prompts in my request, I'll try to explain things a tad more:
Living in the Citadel: I just love ādaily lifeā pieces showing the, well, daily life of people in interesting and foreign parts of the setting. The Citadel itself is a fascinating artifact and we don't see much of it, and what we see aren't the most exotic places. The codex mentions vacuum-sealed skyscrapers, or buildings being changed without warning by the Keepers, there's so much left to explore!
Living in the Terminus Systems: this too is about my love of the mundane life in very not mundane places. How do you make a life when (space) pirates/slavers might show up at any time? What does it feel when there's only a few hundred people on the entire planet light-years away from anyone else? What kind of people would chose to live there? What kind of people would not but are forced to?
Charting new systems: I always have a deep feeling of wonder when opening the Galaxy Map, and spend hours and hours just reading every description. That kind of space atlas tickles my imagination in the best way, and that's the sort of thing I'm looking forwards; maybe the perspective of an exploration crew, or of the people having the actually catalog the data being brought back, or more in-universe descriptions⦠lots of possibilities!
FemShep/Traynor: and now for something completely different, shipping! I know Traynor isn't the most popular choice out there, but what can I say, whenever I replay ME3 I end up with her. Maybe it's all that was added in the Citadel DLC, maybe it's that goodbye before the last mission, maybe it's her voice/accent, or maybe it's all of that and more, she's just the best dork. Now as to "what to write about", given everything, I think "missing scenes" work best. We sadly do not get much of their romance in the game itselfā¦

Hyperion Cantos - Dan Simmons
Worldbuilding: The Fall (Hyperion), Worldbuilding: Dealing with Time-Debt (Hyperion), Worldbuilding: Daily Life under the Pax (Hyperion), Worldbuilding: Daily Life in the Hegemony (Hyperion), Fanart, Fanfiction, Interactive Fiction
Hello, and thank you for creating for me!
Now this is a deep-cut; Hyperion was one of the very first Actual SciFi Book For Adults I read when I was young and it left quite an impression on me (even if I did not really understand everything at that time). Though as you can see, the prompts I requested aren't really about the more... metaphysical parts of it, but rather the background ones. My usual "what does normal life looks like in that setting", if you will, through both main periods. Plus what happened directly after the Fall of the Farcasters, which was quite the apocalyptic event. We know how some planets fared (mostly badly), but how the Pax became the new hegemon is left quite vague.

Stargate SG-1
Worldbuilding: The BC-303 and 304 programs (SG1), Worldbuilding: Civilians in the StarGate Program (SG1), Worldbuilding: The Logistics of the SGC (SG1), Fanart, Fanfiction, Interactive Fiction
Hello, and thank you for creating for me!
Look, I'm just a sucker for logistics. Especially military logistics, whether it's something set early where they struggle to keep the lights on and have no idea what they're getting into, or something set later when there's already USAF spaceships running around (and the management and minutiae of that specific project ā where the most unrealistic thing is not the FTL or energy shields but the fact that an entire warship was designed, approved, and built in like five years).

Babylon 5 (TV 1993)
Relationship: Susan Ivanova/Talia Winters (B5), Worldbuilding: Proxima III and Orion VII independance (B5), Worldbuilding: Daily life on Babylon 5 (B5), Worldbuilding: Civilians during the Earth Alliance Civil War (B5), Fanart, Fanfiction, Interactive Fiction
Hello, and thank you for creating a piece for the best scifi series of all time! Given that this time there's not only worldbuilding prompts in my request, I'll try to explain things a tad more:
Living on Babylon 5: I just love "daily life" pieces showing the, well, daily life of people in interesting parts of the setting, what what's more interesting than a self-contained world five miles long, all alone in the night? Even just quoting the first season's intro, talking about "diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs and wanderers", opens the gate to lots and lots of strange characters and their stories!
Proxima III and Orion VII independance: Sheridan's speech informs us than just like he's doing with B5, other colonies have declared independance. How was that decision made? How did that go for them? How long were they able to enforce it (not that long for Proxima III, given the whole battle that happens later)? How did their inhabitants react? How did life continue without support from Earth?
Civilians during the civil war: there's not much more to add there. For obvious reasons, we mostly see the civil war hapening from the military side, but that must have been one hell of a time for the people on the ground too. The topic of Resistance could be explored too, as we know there was a Resistance on Mars, but there probably was one elsewhere.
Ivanova/Winters: and now for something completely different... As we know, Talia's actress left the production early, cutting short her planned arc; and as we also know, it's a 90s show so it's not like her relationship with Ivanova could have ever really be shown. So of course: but what if it was, though. IMO this calls for a more introspective tone, not something overly fluffy. "A day in the life" type works can work well, I think.
⢠Pre or post-canon, āmissing sceneā type moments
⢠āElsewhereā fics (I don't know if there's a generally agreed upon name for that⦠I mean āthis story is set in the same world/setting/universe as canon, but follows different characters having different adventureā ; as such, I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with OCs

⢠Fantasy politics; schemes and plans
⢠In-universe formats/documents
⢠Last stands, last minute rescues
⢠Slice of life
⢠Casual intimacy, something utterly mundane to hang a moment on, those kind of unspoken ways the characters can convey their love; snippets of daily life
⢠Hurt/Comfort but that focuses more on the comfort part ; taking care of/tending to each other
⢠Trusting each other
⢠Medium: I'm fine with everything, from digital painting to pencils

If any part of the fic has luke or leia disliking teachings about the dark side, would prefer that they simply use it differently instead of rejecting it.
Bonus if the emperor dies and Vader takes over completely

Would strongly prefer that Lex not stop being a villain altogether

And no one on Norway recognizes its name.
š An injury or illness puts Signy out of action (for the moment), and her comrades and crew have to carry on in the crisis: The world is falling apart, he's getting older, and there's a funeral in his heart.

š Glory days: before was ever a captain, there were the cousins, Py and Hal, Chur and Geran.

So this might read as a bit uptight, but I do really really like art and welcome it if that's what you prefer to create!⢠Medium: I'm fine with everything, from digital painting to pencils
